1. Hợp tác của phụ huynh: Trường Thăng Long tha thiết yêu cầu quí phụ huynh tích cực tham gia vào hội phụ huynh của mỗi lớp và hợp tác cùng ban giảng huấn trong việc theo dõi và hướng dẫn cho các em trong phần bài làm nhà của mỗi tuần. Xin phụ huynh kiên nhẫn khuyến khích các em nói tiếng Việt ở nhà.

3. Giờ học: 9:30 giờ sáng đến 12 giờ trưa. Xin phụ huynh đưa học sinh đến trường trước giờ học 10 phút và yêu cầu phụ huynh đến đón học sinh đúng giờ. Học sinh đi trễ quá hai lần sẽ bị chép phạt, nếu đi trễ nhiều lần sẽ bị trừ điểm.

4. Vắng mặt: Học sinh phải đi học đúng giờ và liên tục. Nếu vắng mặt, xin phụ huynh viết thư xin phép nghỉ (http://tvnthanglong.org/forms) báo cho Thầy Cô giáo phụ trách lớp biết. Có thư của phụ huynh và học sinh có nộp đầy đủ bài làm nhà (http://tvnthanglong.org/smf/index.php), học sinh sẽ được 10 điểm cho phần điểm danh. Nếu học sinh vắng mặt 3 buổi liên tục mà không có giấy xin phép của phụ huynh, sẽ không được tiếp tục theo học khóa hiện tại.

5. Kỷ luật: Học sinh nên mặc đồng phục của trường Thăng Long khi tới trường, tác phong nghiêm chỉnh, và vâng lời Thầy Cô. Học sinh đi học luôn phải có sách vở và bút viết. Xin phụ huynh nhắc nhở các em trước khi rời nhà. Nếu làm mất sách, học sinh phải mua lại $10 mỗi cuốn. Học sinh không được chạy và làm ồn trong trường học.

6. Học tập: Học sinh phải tham dự đầy đủ các kỳ thi trong khóa, và phải làm đầy đủ các bài tập mỗi tuần. Nếu vắng mặt trên 4 buổi học dù có lý do chính đáng, cũng sẽ bị ở lại lớp. Học sinh nào không làm đủ các bài tập hơn 3 lần sẽ không được học tiếp.

7. Vệ sinh: Học sinh phải gìn giữ vệ sinh chung của trường và lớp học, giữ gìn phòng vệ sinh sạch sẽ. Tuyệt đối không được di chuyển bàn ghế, cũng như dụng cụ trong lớp học.

8. Học cụ: Học sinh chỉ được mang tập, sách, bút, mực và đồ dùng cần thiết cho việc học tập. Xin tắc điện thoại cầm tay, máy nghe nhạc trong giờ học. Tuyệt đối không được mang theo các vật bén nhọn, chất nổ, ma túy, hóa chất cũng như vũ khí vào lớp học hay khuôn viên trường. Vi phạm sẽ bị đuổi học.

School Policies

1. Parent/Guardian Collaboration/Support: In order to help the students’ progress in Vietnamese education, the Thang Long Vietnamese School strongly requests that parents/guardians collaborate with the teachers by supervising the weekly homework assignments. In addition, the school strongly requests that parents/guardians encourage their children to speak in Vietnamese at home.

3. Class Hour: Class hours are from 9:30 AM – 12 Noon. Parents should have the children at the school at least 10 minutes before classes begin, and to pick them up in a timely manner. Any student who comes to class late more than twice will be disciplined. Any student who is tardy too many times will not be allowed to enter the classroom.

4. Absence: Parents/guardians are required to write an absent note (using Thang Long's absent form http://tvnthanglong.org/forms.html) to the teacher-in-charge directly and in advance, if possible, of their child/children’s absence from school on a particular day. For sick leave, students can bring in an absent note the following week and homework in order to get full attendant point (10). Students should go to http://tvnthanglong.org/smf/index.php to down load the missing homework. Any student who is absent more than three times without parental written permission will not be allowed to continue his/her education.

5. Disciplines: Students will behave in an obedient and respectful manner toward the teachers at the Thăng Long Vietnamese School. They will dress in neat and proper attire. Students should only bring supplies that are necessary for performing schoolwork. Cell phones and portable CDs should be turn off during class sessions. The following are NOT allowed in the school building or on the school premises: sharp objects, explosive devices, illegal drugs, and items that can potentially be used as weapons. Violation of the above rules can lead to expulsion from school.

6. School Performance: Every student is required to participate in the Midterm and Final exams and to complete a sufficient number of class assignments. Any student who fails to fulfill more than three class assignments will not be allowed to continue his/her education. Any student who is absent more than four times will not be allowed to advance to the next grade level, with or without legitimate parental permission.

7. Respect for School Property: Students are required to exercise respect for the school property, particularly in the restrooms and classrooms. Under no circumstances should tables, chairs, and other school items be removed or taken from the school. The students are expected to dispose of trash properly and maintain personal items in a neat and orderly fashion.

8. School Supplies: Students should come to school supplied with (but not limited to) the following essential items, including textbook(s), notebook, paper, pencil, pen, etc. The cost for the replacement of a lost textbook is $10.
